No Maintenance Needed. Just
Naturally Blushed Lips!
Not everyone is happy with the way their lips look. Maybe in the past, you had great lips and over time you start experiencing a loss of colour and definition (which is common as you age), hence, each time you look at the mirror you can only see a shadow of the perfect lips you once had.
In the past, achieving the lips you deserve requires plastic surgery and you'd have to visit a plastic surgeon for that, or you’d have to subject your lips to a series of painful injections just to achieve the lips of your dreams. Well, in 2022, all that is in the past and today with a semi-permanent makeup procedure like lip blushing you’ll be able to have those picture-perfect beautifully flushed lips of your dreams without needing to apply gloss, lipstick, or balm.
Regardless, Reejuvenate has got you covered.
Things You Need To Know About Lip Blushing
-
Maintenance will vary, depending on your selected colour and your after/long-term care. Most of our clients won’t require a colour boost session for 1-3+ years after their initial (two) sessions are completed.
-
If you experience cold sores, you will need to take the necessary treatment 2-3 days prior and once again immediately after being tattooed. Not doing so can risk an outbreak that may effect the healing process. (We recommend Elovax 3 in 1 dose, please consult your doctor for official advice)
-
Two initial sessions are required to consider your Lip Blush *finished*. Cosmetic tattoos use a two-step process and the general approach of “we can add, but we can’t take away” when it comes to working on such delicate features! Touch up sessions are beneficial for layering the pigment for more saturation and definition and each result will differ from person to person. Touch up sessions must be completed within 3 months from the original session and this many vary when working on melanin rich lips.

What is lip blushing in sydney?
Lip blushing is a form of cosmetic tattooing that semi-permanently improves your lip colour by depositing coloured ink in your lips via the use of mechanical needles.
Lip blushing can be seen as a cosmetic tattoo of the lips that improves or enhances not only the beauty of the natural lips colour, but it also corrects asymmetry, and improves the shape of your lips, which gives the illusion of fullness and definition.
Benefits of lip blushing in Sydney
Lip blushing comes with a lot of benefits. Some of the lip blushing benefits you stand to gain include:
-
Long-lasting lip colour
-
You can customize your lip shade
-
Enhanced lip symmetry
-
Increased or enhanced pigmentation for ageing and pale lips.
-
Fuller-looking and younger-looking lips
-
Colour correction for uneven pigmentation and scars
Due to the above-mentioned instant benefits, lip blushing is more in demand now than ever.
How is it done? (Lip blushing procedure)
Lip blushing and lip tattooing aren’t different and as such the procedures involved in lip blushing is quite like those used in lip tattooing.
Lip blushing follows the procedure or steps outlined below:
-
The lips are soft and tender. Since the process involves the use of needles, to reduce the pain and discomfort you’ll feel throughout the process, your provider will have to numb your lips.
-
Since the numbing effect isn’t instantaneous, during the time you’ll be waiting for the effect to take place, your provider will go over your desired tone and shape together with sketches that’ll need your approval.
-
The next step involves using small or mechanical needles to insert natural-looking pigment into your lips. The insertion is done in multiple layers to help create or produce an even tone.
-
The entire process lasts between 1 and 3 hours.
Is lip blushing painful in Sydney clinics?
Yes and No.
You may experience some level of pain, but you don’t have to worry about it and that’s because your provider will apply a numbing product on your lips before carrying out the process to help you deal with the pain and discomfort.
When it comes to pain and tolerance, the higher your pain tolerance, the less discomfort you’ll feel and vice versa. If your pain tolerance is very low, then you should consider taking acetaminophen (do not take ibuprofen, naproxen, and aspirin as well as supplements like vitamin E, garlic, ginkgo, and fish oil because they can increase bruising and bleeding) before your appointment to help decrease the odds of feeling pain.
How long does Lip Blushing last?
First, lip blushing is a semi-permanent procedure. The term “semi-permanent” gives a hint which tells you that it’s not meant to last forever.
Lip blushing can last for several years. The number of years the pigments will stay on your skin cannot be accurately generalized due to the differences in lifestyle practices.
This means that sun exposure and smoking can speed up the fading process. Additionally, the pigments will fade faster when you are deficient in iron, your oil-prone, or you use many exfoliating products in your skin regimen.
The effects of lip blushing will stay the same for two to three years and after that period, it starts to lighten and gradually fades over time until your lips regain their natural hue.
That’s why it’s often recommended that you refresh your sessions yearly so that you can maintain the lip shade you want.
How much does lip blushing in sydney cost?
The cost of lip blushing often varies and it depends on how skilled the tattoo artist is as well as the state or city you reside in. Lip blushing services will cost more for people living in a city than for people living in rural areas.
You can expect lip blushing to cost anywhere between $400 - $1500 and the touch-ups to range from costing nothing to $400. If you need help offsetting your up-front costs, then you should consider asking your provider about financing and payment plans.
It’s possible to find artists that are inexperienced or unlicensed offering lips blushing services for ridiculously low amounts. Do not get swayed in a bid to save up a few more bucks because you may with results you are not satisfied with and in extreme cases, it could even result in dangerous side effects.
Lip Blushing Healing and aftercare
The healing process of lip blushing is like the healing process of tattoo and as such, expect to see redness and swelling which you can treat using ice.
For better results, allow your lips to air-dry and avoid bandaging them. When your lips start healing, the skin will scan for like a week. During that period, avoid picking the scabs as it could result in scarring and uneven tone as the lip heals.
For relief and to better protect your lips during the healing phase, use petroleum jelly on your lips. During the few weeks, it takes your lips to heal, avoid intense workouts and direct exposure to the sun.
If after everything, it seems that your lips look darker than anticipated—do not fret, it's a normal side effect that wears off as your lips heal.
You should see the full results of the process in about a month. At that time, your provider may ask you to come in for a follow-up appointment to assess your results.

How to locate a qualified Lip Blushing provider in Sydney
Although the lip blushing process is achieved essentially by tattooing, the procedure isn’t performed by a traditional tattoo artist, instead, it’s performed by an aesthetician or cosmetic tattoo technician.
The reason for that is, aestheticians are equipped with the ability to not only colour your lips using pigments but to also help you achieve anti-ageing results.
Looking for a provider isn’t easy because you can just pick anyone you like—you’ll have to make sure they are experienced and licensed cosmetic or aesthetician tattoo artists.
